A Heartfelt Thank You from Krackers Catering

Dear Customers, Supporters and Community Partners,

After over 25 years of service to our community, Krackers Catering will officially close on June 27,

2025.

Since 1999, Krackers has proudly operated as a social enterprise of Causeway Work Centre, using

catering as a platform for employment, training and empowerment for individuals facing barriers

to work. Over the years, we’ve had the honour of serving thousands of meals, and more

importantly, creating opportunity, inclusion and community connection.

Like many in the food services industry, Krackers experienced significant challenges in recent

years, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The landscape changed, and despite

the incredible efforts of our team, the industry proved difficult to rebound in a sustainable way.

After careful consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to wind down the operation.

To our customers, community partners, and supporters: thank you. Your continued support,

encouragement, and collaboration helped make Krackers more than a business, it made it a

movement for inclusion and opportunity.

While this chapter comes to a close, the impact of Krackers lives on in the people it supported,

the skills it fostered, and the community it helped build. As we say goodbye, we do so with

immense pride in what was accomplished and deep gratitude for your support.

Please know that our commitment to employment development and social impact remains

strong. Causeway continues to operate and grow other social enterprises and programs designed

to support individuals facing barriers to employment. The closure of Krackers does not signal a

step back in our mission; rather, it allows us to refocus and strengthen our efforts where we can

have the greatest impact.
